In 2019, the Morgan Hill Chamber of Commerce will present its new Civic Tuesdays series, an opportunity for you to engage in personal conversations with elected officials on issues that are relevant to you and our community.
Join us for a series of ongoing discussions with elected officials in this engaging new program.
The chamber’s goal with this series is to provide a forum where our residents and businesses can listen to and interact with elected officials on topics that are important to the social and economic health of our community.
During the course of the year we will host State Assemblymember Robert Rivas, California State Sen. Bill Monning, Santa Clara County Supervisor Mike Wasserman, and other elected officials who will discuss the impact of county and state initiatives on the city of Morgan Hill and our residents.
How will the county, state, and city’s stance on growth control, homelessness, and housing impact us today and into the future?
The state has a new commission focused on California’s homelessness crisis, as well as other initiatives addressing the affordability crisis in our state. This includes a new $1 billion incentive package the state has created to help communities address housing shortages, growth and affordability. What are the plans for Morgan Hill?
Our county is also aging. By 2030 one in four Santa Clara County residents will be older than 60.
All levels of government are looking at the services we provide to seniors and the development of aging master plans. Join us to hear what elected officials are doing to resolve these issues and give them your feedback.
Civic Tuesdays will provide an opportunity for Morgan Hill residents to learn about and discuss issues that matter to all of us.
If you have a question or issue you’d like the Civic Tuesdays series to address, please send it to Brittney Sherman, member and community relations director at [email protected] for consideration.
We look forward to seeing you at our first Civic Tuesday, the date of which will be announced soon.
