Evelyn Mabel Buck passed away Aug. 11, 2020, just after celebrating her 108th birthday.
Evelyn was a dear friend of Andy’s Orchard serving as the matriarch during Andy’s summer tasting and picking events.
She would bring her delicious apricot jam, and her warm presence was a treat for all. A rare apricot hybrid on the family property was brought to Andy Mariani for identification, but Andy did not recognize the variety so it was deemed ‘Evelyn’s’ apricot. Born in Stockton, she lived for more than 80 years in Campbell when the Pruneyard was actually a prune yard.
