Line Dancing

SM Lions Club Meets

Lions Club Morgan Hill

Wind Symphony Meets

Embroiderers Guild of America

Running Group, Club Run
• The South Valley Running Club is hosting a group run at 8 a.m. Various distances. All levels are welcome. Membership is not required. Details: www.svrchome.org.

Tour Morgan Hill Museum
• The Morgan Hill Museum and Hiram Morgan Hill House are open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., with docents giving tours. Learn about the city’s history and see some new additions. The Villa Mira Monte grounds are now open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, where visitors can enjoy the Centennial History Trail and the rose garden at leisure.

Morning Bike Ride
• Weekly co-ed, no-drop ride averaging 25 miles. Meet at Bike Therapy, 17540 Depot St. at 7:30 a.m. in Morgan Hill. Road bike and drop handlebars required.

Farmers’ Market
• The Morgan Hill Certified Farmers’ Market brings together farmers, food producers and consumers from Morgan Hill, Gilroy, and Hollister from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Third and Depot streets in downtown. Now year-round, a family-friendly Kids Craft event was added with fun educational projects to delight all ages. Parking is available at the CalTrain depot, accessed via Butterfield Boulevard.

Gilroy Museum
• The Gilroy Museum has added hours and is now open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

May 9

Mother’s Day Concert
• After a two-year COVID-19 layoff, South Valley Symphony’s Mother’s Day concert at Guglielmo Winery returns at 3 p.m. May 8 with “Fiesta Latina!” Under the baton of music director and conductor Anthony Quartuccio, the symphony will present a program that includes Bizet’s “Carmen,” Ruperto Chapi’s “El Tambor de Granadero,” Rimsky-Korsakov’s “Capriccio Espagnol” and Marquez’s “Danzon No. 2.” Tickets are $45 for students, children free with adult, and students free with ID. Tickets include a coupon for a glass of wine, and light refreshments. The concert begins at 3 p.m. at the winery, 1480 E. Main, Morgan Hill. There are no on-site ticket sales; visit www.southvalleysymphony.org for tickets.

Woodland Estates Parking Lot Sale
• Visit Woodland Estates from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. for a community-wide estate sale at 850 W. Middle Ave., Morgan Hill.

Apply for Scholarship

Give Where You Live
• Gilroy Foundation will host a “Give Where You Live” from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Lodge on the Hill. This educational and informative mixer focuses on the challenges and accomplishments of the past three years since the first event was held in 2019. A panel of community members speaking on how they have positively interacted with the foundation during this time and information tables staffed by Gilroy Foundation directors will highlight the evening. Mariachi Competition, Picnic
• Morgan Hill Historical is hosting the third Youth Mariachi Competition & Family Picnic from 1 to 5 p.m. at 17860 Monterey Road. No fee, fun children’s activities, bring a lunch or purchase from a food truck on site.

May 28 & 29

Mushroom Mardi Gras
• Canceled the past two years, the Morgan Hill Mushroom Mardi Gras is back. The two-day explosion of fungal culture is held at the Morgan Hill Community and Cultural Center, 17000 Monterey Road, and along Depot St.

June 3

Charity Golf Tournament
• Operation Freedom Paws annual Charity Golf Tournament and Awards Luncheon takes place beginning at 7 a.m. at Coyote Creek Golf Club. Start the day on the greens with a light breakfast on the go. There will be drink stations with complimentary water, soda and beer along the course. After the tournament is over, enjoy a buffet lunch on the Garden Terrace overlooking the 18th hole, where they will announce and award the overall 1st, 2nd & 3rd place teams and contest winners with some terrific prizes.
