Line Dancing

Grief Counseling

Parkinson’s Support Group

Lions Club Morgan Hill
• The Lions Club meets at Mama Mia’s, 275 E. Dunne Ave. in Morgan Hill, at 7 p.m. They focus on programs and services for the blind and visually impaired, and many other local programs. Details: (408) 723-1018.

Bingo

SM Lions Club Meets

Historical Museum Open

Wind Symphony Meets

Flower Lovers Meet

Embroiderers Guild of America

Grief Support Group

Running Group, Club Run
• The South Valley Running Club is hosting a group run at 8 a.m. Various distances. All levels are welcome. Membership is not required. Details: www.svrchome.org.

Tour Morgan Hill Museum
• The Morgan Hill Museum and Hiram Morgan Hill House are open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., with docents giving tours. Learn about the city’s history and see some new additions. The Villa Mira Monte grounds are now open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, where visitors can enjoy the Centennial History Trail and the rose garden at leisure.

Morning Bike Ride
• Weekly co-ed, no-drop ride averaging 25 miles. Meet at Bike Therapy, 17540 Depot St. at 7:30 a.m. in Morgan Hill. Road bike and drop handlebars required.

Farmers’ Market
• The Morgan Hill Certified Farmers’ Market brings together farmers, food producers and consumers from Morgan Hill, Gilroy, and Hollister from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Third and Depot streets in downtown. Now year-round, a family-friendly Kids Craft event was added with fun educational projects to delight all ages. Parking is available at the Caltrain depot, accessed via Butterfield Boulevard.

Gilroy Museum
• The Gilroy Museum has added hours and is now open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

July 1

FNMS is Here
• The next weekly Friday Night Music Series concert takes place from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Downtown Amphitheater. This week features local and crowd favorite Shane Dwight.

July 3

Patriotic Sing
• The annual Patriot Sing with young singers led by Karen Crane takes place from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Downtown Amphitheater. Guests of honor will include soldiers who have recently returned from deployment and the South Bay Blue Star Moms and members of our Armed Forces as they honor those who serve.

Family Music Fest
• Come out and join the Family Music Fest on Monterey Road between Dunne and Main Avenue. Food and beverages will be available for purchase at vendors as well as from local merchants. It begins at 7 p.m. with the Honor Color Guard — VFW 6309 followed by the National Anthem sung by Alison Turner. The Recurrents will take the stage shortly after 8 p.m.

July 4

Freedom Run
• The July 4th Freedom Run takes place from 7 to 9 a.m. in downtown Morgan Hill. To sign up, visit www.morganhillfreedomfest.com/freedom-run.

Car Cruise
• The Car Cruise will follow the Freedom Run from 9 to 10 a.m., motoring up Main Avenue, across Peak Avenue, down Dunne Avenue and finish on Monterey Road.

Parade
• The annual Fourth of July Parade takes place from 10 a.m. to noon along the same course. It includes equestrians, marching bands, floats, special surprises and more.

Fireworks on the Green
• Fireworks are launched from the Outdoor Sports Center at 16500 Condit Road. Gates open at 3 p.m. This year the headline act is The Arena Band. Also, by popular demand, The Usual Suspects, our Patriotic Singers school group and The Jukebox Boyz will open. The fireworks display begins at about 9:30 p.m. There will also be a traditional pie eating contest. Sign-up on-site if you are interested at www.morganhillfreedomfest.com. The festival is free. Parking is $10 online (or $15 at the door) to help pay for the fireworks. Plenty of food trucks and drinks (beer, wine, hard cider and non-alcoholic drinks) will be available on-site but please, no outside alcohol is allowed on-site.

July 9

Book Sale
• The Friends of Gilroy Library will hold its monthly book sale from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the library, 350 W. Sixth St. The Isabel Jewell Bookstore is open Monday through Friday from 1 to 3 p.m. There are many boxes of DVD’s, and lots of children’s books.

July 13

Garlic Festival Concert
• A concert sponsored in part by KRTY featuring award-winning Nashville songwriters Wendell Mobley and Lee Thomas Miller takes place at Clos LaChance Winery. Tickets are $60 and seating is first-come, first-serve. Details: www.gilroygarlicfestivalassociation.com.

Aug. 20

Garden Railroad Tour
• The Bay Area Garden Railway Society and South County Railroaders invite the public to the annual Garden Tour to benefit St. Joseph’s Center. Visit five stunning model railways running through some of the most spectacular backyard gardens from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Please help those in need by bringing a non-perishable food item to donate to any of the layouts.
