Morgan Hill Life asked author Auxilia William about her new children’s book about why it’s important to pursue a dream.

  • What is “Emily and the Moon” about and what message might children gain from it?

Emily and the Moon” is a heartwarming tale that captures the imagination and creativity of a little girl who deeply loves the Moon. The story highlights the importance of parental support in helping children pursue their dreams and passions. Emily’s communication with the Moon is a fun element that will enchant young readers. This beautifully written story is a must-read for children and adults alike.

  • What inspired you to write a children’s book?

As an early childhood educator with 18 years of experience, I have developed a deep passion for reading books to children. Throughout my career, I have observed children’s joy and fascination for the Moon, which inspired me to write my book, ‘Emily and the Moon.’ Drawing on my experience, I wanted to create a story that captures children’s imagination and creativity while highlighting the importance of parental support in nurturing their passions.

  • Why might young readers wish to come to BookSmart for your author visit and learn more about the story?

An author visit is an exciting and interactive experience that can inspire and engage young readers. As an author, I can share my book with children in person, read it, and answer their questions. Additionally, children will receive fun, space-themed stickers to take home and enjoy. Through this visit, I hope to create a fun and memorable experience for children and ignite their passion for reading.
