Morning Bike Ride

Farmers’ Market
• The Morgan Hill Certified Farmers’ Market brings together farmers, food producers and consumers from Morgan Hill, Gilroy, and Hollister from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Third and Depot streets. A family-friendly Kids Craft is included with fun educational projects to delight all ages. Parking is available at the Caltrain depot, accessed via Butterfield Boulevard.

Tour Morgan Hill Museum
• The Morgan Hill Museum and Hiram Morgan Hill House are open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., with docents giving tours. Learn about the city’s history and see some new additions to the museum. The Villa Mira Monte grounds are open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, where visitors can enjoy the Centennial History Trail and the rose garden at leisure.

Second Saturday

Historic Downtown Walking Tours

Daughters of the Amer. Revolution
• Members from Hollister, Gilroy, San Juan Bautista and Morgan Hill meet at 10 a.m. (through May). Parking Lot Sale
• Visit the Woodland Estates Parking Lot Sale from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., at 850 W. Middle Ave. Lots of unique items will be on sale.

Car Show
• The inaugural Sobrato FFA Car Show takes place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the high school parking lot. Contests include People’s Choice, Best of Each Decade and Best Truck. Registration is $30 and includes free raffle, coffee and donuts and available at BIT.LY/3LOYXL3 by May 12. Spectators are free. Proceeds benefit FFA student activities, classes, welding, mechanics, and leadership travel.

Photo Club Exhibit
• The Morgan Hill Photography Club presents a virtual exhibition entitled “Unusual Perspective.” It consists of 24 images by eight artists who use lines, angles, and optical illusion to create interesting and unusual compositions. A Quiet Crisis
• Gain insight into the crisis of missing and murdered indigenous women during a presentation and panel discussion that will include Sharon Torres, Native American Team Lead for Family Outreach and Engagement Program at the Santa Clara County Behavioral Health Services Department, and Sonya Tetnowski, CEO, Indian Health Center of Santa Clara Valley and a Makah Tribal member. The discussion will take place from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Morgan Hill Library, 660 W. Main Ave.

San Martin Horsemen
• The San Martin Horsemen’s Association meets from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Longhouse Restaurant in Gilroy. Arrive at 6 p.m. to order dinner on your own before the meeting begins.

Valley Water Meeting
• Valley Water is two years into a seismic retrofit of Anderson Dam and has made progress on building the outlet tunnel. They are holding a meeting from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Morgan Hill Community and Cultural Center to learn more about the work and next steps. Celebrate Memorial Day
• Honor veterans beginning at 9 a.m. in downtown. The flag of the day will be from Dennis Perino; children, led by Karen Crane, will sing patriotic songs; a prayer will be led by West Hills Community Church Pastor Mike Burchfield followed by be the reading of the honor roll by Armando Garcia. Mayor Mark Turner and Larry Carr with Wreaths Across America will lay wreaths and the morning will conclude with Steve Johnson playing Taps.

June 2

Gym Naming Ceremony
• MHUSD will officially be naming the Britton School gym after Coach Jim Green who has had an impact on the lives of generations of students here. The ceremony to honor the name change will happen at 5 p.m. in the gym. Book Sale
• The Friends of the Morgan Hill Library will have their quarterly book sale from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the library. All books are $1 or less; children’s and teen books 10 cents each. Bag sale starts at 2 p.m.; $4 a bag or $5 with a library bag. Members only preview sale is from 9 to 10 a.m. Memberships may be purchased at the door.
