Newcomer Meeting

Learn About Scouts

Parkinson’s Support Group

Dementia Support Group for Caregivers
• Group meets from 11 to 12:30 p.m. at the Senior Center, 171 W. Edmundson Ave., and is a free, with no reservations required and for non-professional caregivers. It is a safe space to speak about the challenges faced and everything is kept confidential. Do not bring the person you are caring for to the meeting.

Bingo

Meditation, Yoga Sutra Study

Farmers’ Market
• The Morgan Hill Farmers’ Market unites farmers, food producers and consumers from Morgan Hill, Gilroy, and Hollister from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Third and Depot streets. A family-friendly Kids Craft is included with fun projects to delight all ages. Parking is available at the Caltrain depot, via Butterfield Boulevard.

Tour Morgan Hill Museum
• The Morgan Hill Museum and Hiram Morgan Hill House are open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., with docents giving tours. Learn about the city’s history and see some new additions. The Villa Mira Monte grounds are open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Visitors can enjoy the Centennial History Trail and the rose garden at leisure.

Gilroy Ukulele Jam

Weekly Bike Ride

• The Morgan Hill Photography Club is presenting a virtual photographic entitled “Flight” and consists of 40 images by 14 artists who interpret the theme in unique and interesting ways. Clean Parks & Trais

Learn to Compost
• Learn about composting at home, both backyard composting and vermicomposting (composting with worms), from 10 a.m. to noon. They’ll cover commercial composting (and why you cannot do it at home), hot and cold composting, and uses of compost. They will also briefly discuss using cover crops and show how to make a simple, inexpensive worm box for those wanting to try vermicomposting. Presented by UCCE Master Gardener Glenn Lattig.

Environmental Program
• As part of Silicon Valley Reads “A Greener Tomorrow Starts Today,” join the Gilroy branch of the American Association of University Women at 2 p.m., at the Gilroy Library 660 W. Sixth St. for “Climate Change Is Here — What Can We Do About It?” Get tips on water-saving landscaping, how to get free trees for your yard, and how you can get rebates by replacing your lawn with beautiful, drought-tolerant plants. The panelists are Karen Aitken-Bernosky, a well-known local landscape architect, Ashley Shannon, senior water conservation specialist from Valley Water, Kenneth Gabbard of the U.C. Master Gardeners of Santa Clara County, and Our City Forest. Learn how to make a difference while saving money on your water bills, to boot! Crab Feed
• Join Operation Freedom Paws for a fun-filled night of great food, live music, a silent auction, and hidden treasure drawings in the spirit of our seafaring theme from 5 to 9 p.m., at Old City Hall Restaurant. Operation Freedom Paws is a 501(c)3 nonprofit, all proceeds will help fund lifesaving service dog teams that empower veterans, first responders, children and other individuals with disabilities – at no cost to them. Attracting Pollinators
• Top rated flowers and flowering shrubs that attract pollinators and other beneficial insects will be discussed from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., at the Gilroy Library, 350 W. Sixth St. Many are California native plants that offer benefits for nature, as well as being drought tolerant. Plants for sun and shade that provide flowers for each season will be covered. Help provide pollen and nectar for healthy hummingbirds, bees, butterflies and beneficial insects by growing these beautiful flowers. Presented by UCCE Master Gardener Joan Cloutier.
