Learn About Scouts

Parkinson’s Support Group

Dementia Support Group for Caregivers
• Group meets from 11 to 12:30 p.m. at the Senior Center, 171 W. Edmundson Ave., and is free, with no reservations required and for non-professional caregivers. It is a safe space to speak about the challenges faced and everything is kept confidential. Do not bring the person you are caring for to the meeting.

Morning Bike Ride
• Weekly co-ed, no-drop ride averaging 25 miles. Meet at Bike Therapy, 17540 Depot St., at 7:30 a.m. in Morgan Hill. Road bike and drop handlebars required.

Farmers’ Market
• The Morgan Hill Farmers’ Market unites farmers, food producers and consumers from Morgan Hill, Gilroy, and Hollister from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Third and Depot streets. A family-friendly Kids Craft is included. Parking is available at the Caltrain depot, via Butterfield Boulevard.

Tour Morgan Hill Museum
• The Morgan Hill Museum and Hiram Morgan Hill House are open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., with docents giving tours. Learn about the city’s history and see some new additions. The Villa Mira Monte grounds are open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Visitors can enjoy the Centennial History Trail and the rose garden at leisure.

Gilroy Ukulele Jam

Virtual Photo Exhibit
• The Morgan Hill Photography Club will hold a virtual exhibit entitled “Architectural Black and White” which consists of 40 images by 15 artists who have captured interesting architectural lines, shapes, patterns, and textures, and then enhanced them by removing color. Plan Your Vegetable Garden
• Learn how to grow a healthy and productive summer garden at this free UCCE South County Master Gardeners class from 10 a.m. to noon, at the South County Teaching and Demonstration Garden, 80 Highland Ave., San Martin. They will discuss best cultural practices, planting seeds, improving soil, fertilizing, weed and pest control, and tips on selecting good vegetable varieties. You can also plant several garden seeds for yourself and transplant a tomato plant to bring home.

Author Talk
• Local historian Beth Wyman will present the newest version of her book, “Hiram Morgan Hill: The Man, Not the Mountain,” at 10:30 a.m., at the Hiram Morgan Hill House. Learn the story behind the book’s creation and have the opportunity to purchase a signed copy from the author.

Growing Culinary Herbs
• Learn how to grow beautiful fragrant culinary herbs at this free UCCE South County Master Gardeners class from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., at the Morgan Hill Library, 660 W. Main Ave. Herb varieties, planting, care, and pests will be discussed. Many culinary herbs are very easy to grow. Not only are they attractive, but they can also attract beneficial insects and pollinators to your garden. They will cover basic requirements of popular annual and perennial herbs.

OFP Pasta Feed
• This fundraiser for Operation Freedom Paws is always a great event. It takes place from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at Old City Hall Restaurant, 7400 Monterey Highway. The cost is $45 and tickets are available at OFP’s is a nonprofit that matches life-saving service dogs with veterans, first responders, children, and other individuals with disabilities as well as provide other critical resources and support at no cost to them.

Book Sale
• The Friends of the Gilroy Library monthly book Sale takes place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the library, 350 West Sixth St. Books are $5 per bag for members and $8 per bag for non-members. Membership starts at $5. The Isabel Jewell Book Store is open from 1 to 3 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Friday from 1 to 4 p.m., Wednesdays, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Thursdays and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. the second and fourth Saturdays.
