General manager shares wealth of local knowledge with guests

In a testament to small-town hospitality meeting world-class standards, Morgan Hill’s Comfort Inn & Suites captured the coveted Gold Award from Choice Hotels, solidifying its place among the top-performing properties in the global hospitality brand.
This family-owned gem, nestled in the heart of Morgan Hill for a quarter century, the hotel has proven that local roots and personalized service can shine on an international stage.. The award recognizes the hotel’s exceptional commitment to guest satisfaction and quality service. This honor places the local establishment among the top-performing properties within the Choice Hotels brand.
The 25-year-old hotel is located at 16225 Condit Road across the street from the Outdoor Sports Center. It has been a fixture in the Morgan Hill community since it was built in 1999 by Kusum and San Panwala. Today, Kusum Panwala continues to actively own and operate the hotel, carrying on the family’s legacy in the hospitality industry.
“This award is recognition of our staff’s efforts,” said Asit Panwala, her son speaking on behalf of the family-run business.
“Our staff is attentive to guests. Our housekeepers are thorough in cleaning the rooms,” he said. “They are the foundation for our future success.”
The hotel’s general manager, Sunit Doshi, a long-time Morgan Hill resident, brings a wealth of local knowledge to enhance guests’ experiences. Always updated on town events such as festivals, concerts, and museum exhibits, Doshi ensures guests stay informed. He shares a genuine passion for ensuring every guest enjoys their stay in Morgan Hill.

When news of the award broke, staff reaction was overwhelmingly positive.
“There was great excitement amongst the staff when they heard the news of the Gold Award,” Doshi said. “Everyone was buzzing with pride and excitement — it felt like a big family celebration.”
The Comfort Inn & Suites maintains high standards through regular staff training, strict adherence to cleanliness procedures, and partnerships with quality suppliers, he said. These efforts, combined with the hotel’s commitment to personalized service, have contributed to its success.
