Morgan Hill Mayor Steve Tate will hold his first “Coffee with the Mayor” this year, which will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Feb. 7 at BookSmart, 90 E. Second St.
Coffee with the Mayor gives Morgan Hill residents an opportunity to provide input to Tate in a very relaxed and informal environment. The “input” can be anything — questions, suggestions, criticism (hopefully constructive) or just a friendly chat to get more familiar with the mayor.
Some regulars come because they want to hear what other attendees have to say, and that’s fine, too.
The coffee is on the mayor and BookSmart very graciously provides some treats to complement their great coffee.
The mayor and city council members will have concluded their annual goal setting retreat the previous weekend, so Tate will give an overview and provide an opportunity for residents to provide feedback on the city’s direction.
Tate will also give his annual state of the city address at 7 p.m. Feb 19 at the Morgan Hill City Council Chambers, 17575 Peak Ave. (The venue is changed from the Community and Cultural Center where it was held in previous years.)
The council chamber provides a newer and more high-tech venue which will allow residents to view the speech live on cable channel 17 in Morgan Hill.
Tate is expected to discuss issues about Morgan Hill including the budget, environmental issues and downtown development in 2015.
