Mark FenichelAs we look ahead in the direction of spring, we notice the birds are singing and so is the music scene as the wineries and festivals are beginning to gear up for their upcoming season. The Wineries of Santa Clara Valley are all set for their 2018 Spring Passport event.

New this year, instead of one weekend in the month of March, they are spreading it out over the entire month and opening Friday, March 2, with a kick-off party including live music at Coyote Creek Golf Club. The Spring Passport will get you tastings at more than 30 wineries through the entire month of March.

Check each winery for hours and more information on the winery tab at the Santa Clara Valley Wine Growers website for all the participating wineries at www.santaclarawines.com

Some of the participating wineries offering music include Clos LaChance with live music every Sunday. It starts March 4 with PS Acoustic, followed by March 11 with Paul Kent solo, March 18 with Carlos Padilla, and concluding March 25 with Free Spirit.

Morgan Hill Cellars March 17 with “Four of Hearts” and Sunlit Oaks featuring all original music from singer-songwriter Mark Fenny (that’s me!) from 1 to 4 p.m. March 3 and an original song writer group Sunday March 4 led by Chris O’Connor.

Every Saturday in March, J. Winston, Jason Stephens, Alara Cellars, and Calerrain will have live music. Also, Satori Cellars will have live music every Saturday in March with The Hackjammers starting it off March 3. Other wineries with live music include Sarah’s Vineyard, Seeker Winery March 3 and 17, Tass Vineyards, Mederios, and La Vie Dansante with live music only on the first weekend.
