Ten years ago, when Gary Palacios was working as the chief financial officer at a Web-Palacios,GaryMorgan Hill corporation, one of his friends gave him a challenge. The friend said that with Palacio’s expert finance background, his family involvement in the construction business and his genuine desire to help people, he would make a great real estate agent. Palacios took on the challenge, got his license, and now works as an agent for Intero in Morgan Hill.

A 17-year resident of our community, Palacios is married to Jennifer Palacios. Their daughter Alexandria is studying nursing in Los Angeles. When he’s not helping people find their dream homes, he’s often involved as the pastor of a local church.

He was voted by readers of the Morgan Hill Times as the “best Realtor” in 2012. Morgan Hill Life recently asked the agent about his passion for helping people.
Why do you enjoy helping people find a home for their families?

To be part of a family’s life when they make the biggest purchase of their lives is life changing for both them and me. I love it when they can call a house a home. Every one of my clients becomes a friend.

What local nonprofit organizations are you currently involved with?
I’m currently involved with Cathedral of Faith in Morgan Hill. We have a couple of organizations I’m active in called “I Love Morgan Hill” and “Reaching Out Food Distribution.”

I Love Morgan Hill actively works alongside other organizations to help feed and clothe Morgan Hill residents. Every three months, we provide about 500 guests with a hot meal, free clothing, and various items for children such as backpacks, school supplies, and toys.

Our reaching out program, alongside the Second Harvest Food Bank, provides 200 families every second Tuesday of every month with about $300 dollars worth of groceries. This program is for families with children under the age of 18.
Why are you involved with these groups?

My heart has always been to give back to those in need. Although we live in a great city, there is always someone in need.

What simple advice would you give people in finding a real estate agent they will like to work with?

Find someone who’s passionate and caring about what they do. Anyone can sell you a house, but not everyone can sell you a home.

What simple advice would you give people in purchasing a new home during this market?

“This market” depends on which market. Every area is vastly different and that is why I say Morgan Hill is different than San Martin and San Jose.

Educate yourself with the latest stats and find a knowledgeable Realtor who will listen to your needs.

How would you describe your style of serving your customers?

This economy brought a lot fear and uncertainty, and that’s why I try to see things differently. My motto is: “Experience the brighter side of real estate.” My intent is to “Service,” “Educate” and “Empower” my clients to make the right decision for their future. I want them to“SEE” the difference.
