Marilyn Librers

Morgan Hill is my home and I am passionate about our community. I have lived here for 42 years and watched our town grow. I served on City Council from 2008 through 2016 and would like to continue where I left off 19 months ago. Before being elected I served for six years as a Parks and Recreation Commissioner. As a city we have many issues to address. I have the experience and my knowledge of fiscal management will be needed.

Significant issues are controlling growth and ensuring we have the infrastructure to accommodate what is needed. Important to me is keeping our community safe for the citizens along with ensuring we are socially responsible. Maintaining fiscally sound decisions are important. Other priorities include encouraging a vibrant downtown and welcoming new commercial companies in our industrial areas. Also, we must protect our environment and save land for sustainable farming. Traffic congestion needs to be addressed as soon as possible, both on our city streets and the freeways. I would like to see more public rail service for commuters.

High-Speed Rail is a large concern for me. Luckily I  have stayed connected with my colleagues on the Peninsula regarding how the rail system is proceeding in both Santa Clara County and San Mateo County. I also have contacts in Sacramento that may help with important votes regarding routes and the impact on Morgan Hill.  The HSR is not going away, however, I can be a voice for Morgan Hill. No matter where the rail goes it will impact our small quiet town.

I am committed to fairness and openness and open to meeting with citizens and hearing their input. I represent you and your families and have no agenda other than to serve at the will of the people. With my sincere desire to hold the office of Morgan Hill City Councilmember you can count on me to be committed to Morgan Hill, your home and mine.
