Morning Bike Ride

  • Weekly co-ed, no-drop ride averaging 25 miles. Meet at Bike Therapy, 17540 Depot St. at 7:30 a.m. in Morgan Hill. Road bike and drop handlebars required.

Farmers’ Market

  • The Morgan Hill Certified Farmers’ Market brings together farmers, food producers and consumers from Morgan Hill, Gilroy, and Hollister from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Third and Depot streets. A family-friendly Kids Craft is included with fun educational projects to delight all ages. Parking is available at the Caltrain depot, accessed via Butterfield Boulevard.

Tour Morgan Hill Museum

  • The Morgan Hill Museum and Hiram Morgan Hill House are open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., with docents giving tours. Learn about the city’s history and see some new additions to the museum. The Villa Mira Monte grounds are open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, where visitors can enjoy the Centennial History Trail and the rose garden at leisure.

Second Saturday

Historic Downtown Waking Tours

Daughters of the Amer. Revolution

  • Members from Hollister, Gilroy, San Juan Bautista and Morgan Hill meet at 10 a.m. (through May). April 22

Annual Plant Sale

  • The Gilroy Gardening Group’s Plant Sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Miller Red Barn at Christmas Hill Park. They will offer a large variety of affordable plants. U.C. Master Gardeners will be on site to answer questions, offer advice and give additional tips. Families are welcome and kids get to plant their own seeds or plant. Proceeds from the sale will benefit The Miller Red Barn Association and Operation Freedom Paws.

Dance Party

  • Join the fun and dance to the sounds of Left Channel, which plays covers from The Beatles, Van Morrison, Rolling Stones, BOC, Buddy Holly and more, plus some original tunes. Wear cool ‘50s and ‘60s outfits or come as you are. South Valley Fleurs Garden Club

  • The club’s plant and craft sale takes place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Grace Hill Church at the corner of DeWitt and Dunne avenues. There will also be a sale from 9 to 2 p.m. April 29 at the Veterans Memorial Building, 649 San Benito St., Hollister.

Future Farmers of America

‘Young Artist Exhibit’

  • The Gilroy Center for the Arts is having a special exhibit that runs from March 11 through April 29, 2023. This exhibit features the students of local artist and teacher Diane Wallace. After many years as a professional artist and art teacher, Diane’s website (dianewallaceart.com) makes it possible to share some of her favorite paintings and those of her recent students. Diane’s students’ range in age from five to well past retirement. The center will award one of the students on display a $25 Michaels Gift Card when visitors come in to vote for their favorite piece. The closing reception will be held from 1 to 4 p.m.

Growing Lavender Successfully

  • Lavender has been recognized as an important plant and cultivated in early civilizations as well as in modern times. It adds beauty and fragrance to your landscape as well as attracting bees and other beneficial insects. Many new varieties in various colors and sizes are available. Cultural conditions and potential pests will also be discussed. The class takes place from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Morgan Hill Library, 60 W. Main Ave.

Home/Garden Tour & Boutique

  • The Gilroy Assistance League will hold their annual Home + Garden Tour & Boutique from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. This event is the major fundraiser for the Gilroy Assistance League. Both Friday and Saturday, check-in at the first house is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Upon check-in, ticket holders will receive a program with descriptions of the homes and a map with the locations of all tour homes.
