Day on the Ridge in Gilroy is coming May 28 featuring Blues Traveler

Mark FenichelThe “Covid Cloud” that has been hanging over the local music scene since 2020 appears to have finally lifted. There is live music everywhere!

The Morgan Hill Chamber of Commerce’s Friday Night Music Series is set to begin June 16 (The Houserockers) and will run throughout the summer ending Friday Aug. 18 (Soul Kiss). It’s free every Friday at 5:30 p.m.

You have to love our local wineries including Guglielmo, Clos La Chance, J. Winston Winery, Cinnabar and Horse Thief Vineyards just to name a few that are presenting live music throughout the summer and beyond. Satori Cellars has live music every other weekend and they are now accepting reservations for Father’s Day (www.satoricellars.com). Check the individual winery websites for times, dates and details.

Morgan Hill Mushroom Festival will be featuring a music benefit at the Downtown Amphitheater from 4:30 to 10 p.m. May 27 with Shane Dwight at 5:30 p.m. followed by The Joe Sharino Band at 7:45 p.m. Proceeds from this benefit will go to scholarships for local high school students.

88 Keys Cafe has a totally fun open mic from 6 to 9 p.m. every Monday.  They also have become known throughout the area for their live karaoke on Thursdays. Kelly Brewing Company is a hot spot for live bands from 5 to 8 p.m. every Saturday and a live jam session from 6 to 9 p.m. on most Wednesdays.

Tempo Kitchen & Bar in Gilroy has live bands on weekends. On Sundays they have a beautiful brunch with live music from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Also, SJZ (San Jose Jazz)  will once again have their full blown Summerfest Aug. 11 to 13 with numerous stages throughout downtown San Jose. For the full line-up and ticket information go to www.sanjosejazz.org
