With 2014 behind us, the Morgan Hill Downtown Association is ready to kick-off the New Year. The 2015 event calendar is ready to be published and new board members have been elected. Welcome MHDA’s newest board members: Corrine Boderman — resident and Apparel Product Developer at Specialized Bicycle Components, and Nancy Reynolds — co-owner, The Candy Parlour and Realtor at Century 21 M & M.

Corrine, a Northern California native and learned traveler having spent years abroad with her family as a youth gained an appreciation for diverse cultures, ideas and learning institutions. Corrine and her family ended up back in the Bay Area where she completed her schooling and went on to graduate with honors from Oklahoma Christian University. Corrine later settled in Morgan Hill where she bought her first home and started a career in the action sports industry. In 2011 she accepted a job with Specialized Bicycle Components and has been there ever since.

Family, education, fitness and giving back to this community are passions and the driving force in leading her to seek out the open board position. Her go-getter attitude and social media savvy is a perfect fit for the board. Corrine was instrumental in decorating the MHDA Holiday Parade float and will be actively involved in leading committees, strengthening the marketing and bringing fresh ideas to the downtown.

Morgan Hill Downtown AssociationFilling the second vacant board seat is Nancy Reynolds. Nancy has been a committed volunteer of past MHDA events and brings more than 25 years of marketing, sales and customer service experience to the board. With a proven track record of client satisfaction and retention, and many years of success as the owner of several local businesses, including The Candy Parlour, Nancy decided to bring her entrepreneurial spirit into the world of real estate. Her passions for listening, educating, empowering and problem solving are the key elements to her stellar reputation. They are also attributes that led to her invitation to join the board that will surely enhance the skill sets of fellow members.

Whether Nancy is hosting an open house on the weekend, previewing properties for her buyers and investors, or meeting with first-time home buyers — her message always includes an endorsement of downtown Morgan Hill.

The MHDA is thrilled to add Nancy and Corrine to the roster of directors, but of course will miss the leadership and direction provided over the years from long-time board members Brad Jones, co-owner BookSmart and Jim Krause. While their terms have come to an end, there is no doubt they will remain visible in the community as devoted volunteers and active voices in the upcoming transformation of downtown Morgan Hill.

Volunteer opportunities are always available, so if you are interested in being a part of a committee, an event volunteer, or to join the Association, contact Raquel Crowell at the MHDA office at (408) 779-3190 or [email protected]. Membership for 2015 is an inexpensive way to support the downtown community. For the entire year, all 2015 membership fees will still provide you an array of benefits, but dues will be put toward a holiday fund that will help add decorations to the downtown median in December.
